Exclusive hire of the hostel

Would you like a Georgian mansion, a waterfall, 17 acres, and a view of Derwent Water for the weekend? It certainly makes a very special setting for a wedding, party, or group event, with performing red squirrels almost guaranteed!

We really enjoy helping groups to customise their stay, and so the best way to proceed with an exclusive hire idea is to email us at reception@derwentwater.org with an outline of the type and scale of the event you would like to organise.

The cost of hiring Derwentwater Independent Hostel will vary depending on the scale of the event you would like to organise, but as a starting point, here are our basic prices for exclusive hire per night (food and drink available at extra cost, depending on what you require):

Prices are per night, based on a minimum two night stay. Meals can be booked separately with breakfast for £5.50, an evening meal from £9 and packed lunches for £6.00. We can also recommend local musicians and ceilidh bands. You can have sole use from midday on day of arrival to 10am on day of departure.
